Tunica Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers created Tunica Lake, also known as Tunica Cut-Off, when they dynamited a horseshoe bend in the Mississippi River to straighten a channel. The lake receives both fish and water from a small intake chute at the lower end of the lake. Located on the Mississippi Delta, Tunica Lake is a prime and fertile environment for fishing. Additionally, this lake is near Tunica's casinos and Memphis, providing plenty of entertainment for the entire family.

Fishing

Anglers can experience the thrill of catching bluegill up to 1.5 pounds, and legends are generated around the size of slab crappie caught at Tunica Lake. The lake is naturally fertile, providing great breeding grounds for largemouth, white, and yellow bass, a variety of catfish, drum, green sunfish, and gar. Look for features such as drop-offs, man-made structures, and sand bars to catch your trophy. Be aware that depths in this lake vary with river stages and with location.
